A mother calls about her 3-year-old daughter who is feverish and drowsy, she has been unwell for three days with a cough.
You are the mother.
You rang at midday and you received phone advice with which you were content. However despite maximum doses of Calpol, and doing all the right things, Rebecca remains very hot and seems more listless. Her cough is awful.
You have two other children 5 or under. your husband is at work until 6 pm, he has a family car. You have relatives living in the locality. However you “do not have any transport”.
You do feel strongly. that Rebecca needs to be seen as you are pretty sure she has a nasty chest infection.
